Testimonials

When I was introduced to Alan MacDiarmid, Nobel Laureate prize-winner in Chemistry, and standing in front of an Artwork, which was made and created by local artist Erenora Pketap Hetel, David Myer, Keith Holden and myself (John van de Ven) in his honour.

He looked at it and said, “There is an fine line between Science and Art, both need an open and creative mind”.

I said “yes” but it was not clear to me what he meant with that until I was introduced to Mark Scarlett’s paintings and sculptures. Mark has captured the fine line between Science and Art.

Mark Scarlett a budding artist of a calibre rarely seen in this day and age. His creations are a subject of love, passion, hope, fair, reality, truth, the past and the future.

When people see a piece of art they often say “I like to look into the Artists mind”. Well look at Mark Scarlett’s creations and you can do just that. Mark does not copy other Artists work, he is not a second Picasso, Dali or Alexander Calder.

Mark is a first Mark Scarlett and like any good creation it gets better with age. I look forward to see Mark getting the recognition for the first and only Mark Scarlett he is.
